Lake Stockton Messabout

Since Sail Oklahoma was canceled for this year I propose that instead of setting on the couch and moping,  folks should come to the Stockton Lake Messabout here in the South West corner of Missouri on 9-11 Oct.

Come early and stay late if you wish. i will be there the Wednesday prior if not earlier. 

I am not as good a promoter as Jackie but I have got the world famous traveler, adventurer, and great story teller “Andrew Linn: coming! A  fresh built Michalak Picara is showing up, and Jackie herself with her new glass Scamp, and a big plate of Cowboy Cookies will be there. No telling what boats I will have, or how many!

The Crabtree Campgrounds will be in the off season so there is no caretaker there. There is a self pay box at the shack and sites are first come first serve.  Camping rates are half off, but the water will be shut off along with the bath house. However they leave the electricity on so you can still have most of the comforts of home if you have a camper. Just bring an extra jug or two of water and you are set! 

We will be on the A loop of Crabtree Cove, there are plenty of sites for campers or tents and most of the A loop has electric. We have a large protected cove with a nice pea gravel beach for the boats, and deeper water just off the beach if you have a deep keeled boat. 

There are restaurants in town and a grocery store if you don't like your own cooking.

 Orleans Trail Resort is open if you don't want to camp. The resort is just across the lake from Crabtree Cove. Here is a link to their site.
