Re: diablo info sought
I have a Diablo that I have only used once this year. I built it
about
6 years ago and it is going strong.
It is:
great in a small chop up to about 1 foot
will plane with two aboard and a 10 hp longshaft 2 stroke.
Is very easy to maintain, launch, and retrieve
Makes a great dive boat, swim platform, or fly fishing platform
It does not handle well in strong winds at slow speeds
Is dangerous in large chop (3 feet or more) because it is so light it
can backflip.
It is quite stable as I have used it to haul moorings up to 100 lbs
on
several occasions. Large stripers are also no problem
It is very easy to build. I used AC ply and 6 oz cloth set in epoxy.
It can be viewed at www.ultranet.com/~djost

I'm thinking of building a Diablo, and would really appreciate any
info and photos that y'all could pass along. Thank you.
