Northwest Boat Shows Coming Up!

Some good boat shows are in the offing. Next up is the Triton Boat Show at
Fern Ridge on August 6th. It's put on by the Triton Yacht Club at a County
marina on Fern Ridge Reservoir, near Eugene, Oregon. The show has been a
little disorganized in the past, but is good fun. Exhibitors get free
slips for the weekend:

A few weeks later, August 19-21, is the Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show at
Toledo, Oregon, up the Yaquina River about a dozen miles from Newport. The
Toldeo show has become the Coots' favorite event! They treat us real good
there and we have lots of fun:

September 3-4, during the Labor Day weekend, there's the Cathlamet Wooden
Boat Show, off the Columbia River on the washington side behind Puget
Island. I haven't been to this show yet, but plan to make an effort to
attend this year. It sounds like the show is Our kind of event:

The grandaddy of them all is the next weekend -- the Port Townsend Wooden
Boat Festival. An amazing event! Though there are lots of big, expensive
boats, and plenty of varnish, there's always some workboats and a
subversive small, sensible boat contingent. Coots from all over gather
there:

I hope I see you at some of these events!
