Harry, that's a pretty boat. How's it worked out for your use ?

And ‘the Chief’ speaks from his own experience doing work-skiffs out of nearly anything he can lay his hands on...
It looks like he does not always need plans to get on the water.
Thanks all.
P.S.: Design-Column #502 in MAIB is headed for the printers as we speak.
I'm should have been more specific. I'm interested in reviews and commentary about Phils design #618 Work Skiff. Thanks

I've built a skiff. Will you sail, row, motor. ? That matters. Building a Flat Iron skiff is more tricky. Totally flat bottom is seldom needed. Length effects bottom curve. Net weight and expcted cargo effect design. A generic design would be pointed bow rise 5 or 6 inches width midship 40 to 48 inches. Transom pinched in about 3 inches each side. Aft rocker 3 or 4 inches. Sides flair effects bottom rocker. Need some rocker fore and aft to sail well.
Flat bottom last 1/3 for motors. I suggest you find a boat similar to what you want. Take photos measurements and draw up your own boat. Chief
