Re: [bolger] Digest Number 6161

I agree with Leigh. I am active on Facebook, and, when I was involved in a local nonprofit boat school, brought attention to them with judicious ad placement. I also maintain a personal page, and do not engage in political discussion. Its "boats, flowers and bunnies", as the saying goes. FB is a useful tool if it is used appropriately.

That said, I've never had any trouble getting in touch with Susanne, and of course do not have any issue with her decision to remain off Facebook. I thoroughly enjoy her columns and experienced perspective both here and in the pages of Messing About In Boats.

Like that magazine, a small circulation small craft-related print magazine, some roads remain gravel, and we're the better for it.

Ms Altenburger,

This is your forum and I , for one , am happy to read your words in the forum of your choice. There's no need for you to justify your decisions or engage in debates about them . FB can be a useful forum. It can also be a hive of villainy and trolling. Thanks for all the wonderful articles and information that you provide us with on this forum.

Regards

Leigh Ross
