Are you right handed? there fore as you face the boat from the bow
and tend to move to the right you end up on the port side. Just an
idea

Historically, the starboard side is the front door (e.g. for the
captain, admiral and guests), and the port side is the back door
(e.g.
for loading stores). So, you are just trying to make the front door
look as nice as possible.

I just put the bottom on my Teal and I started fairing the starboard
side first. However the boat is upside down so I am really working
on the port side. Hmmmmmmmmm.

weekend. I ALWAYS start construction on the port side first.
Leeboard rail, sponson, etc. As a matter of fact, I intentionally
tried to start something on the starboard side first, and just
couldn't do it as it didn't feel right.
