Re: [bolger] Re: Bolger "Muscongus Bay" Sloop
Garth and Jamie-
I'll bet it was built to the Fancy (it does start with 'F') design, though
the cockpit shape is much different. The 19' length in the festival program
is probably from the bowsprit tip to boom end. I would have spotted it, but
I was looking at the _backs_ of my Bolger books instead of the _fronts_!
<g>
Thanks.

Missionaries, my Dear! Don't you realize that missionaries are the divinely
provided food for destitute cannibals? Whenever they are on the brink of
starvation, Heaven in its infinite mercy send them a nice plump missionary.

Is that the sloop from 30-Odd Boats? I haven't got the book handy, but it
sure looks like it. Nice boat.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody has commented on the very unsquare Bolger
sloop I took pictures of at the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. I
believe the design was called "Feather" and it's a 19' interpretation of a
Maine centerboard sloop. I thought I'd seen it in PCB's writings, but a
quick glance at my collection of his books didn't turn it up so it must
have been in a magazine. Does anyone here recall reading about the boat?
It's quite beautiful in the flesh. See it here:
