[bolger] Scooner
I thought about it in the other directions: a cuddy over the bow cockpit
to allow use in rougher conditions (so that when she dives into a wave
the water is shed to the sides and not delivered en masse into the
boat). I did work out how to do it with a curved stressed ply sheet
(bolt on-easy off). In the end I didn't do it because tof the problems
posed in getting to sails, halyards etc.
We (used to) camp cruise very comfortably in the scooner by using a boom
tent over the stern cockpit, an old japara camping tent, no floor, tent
walls secured to tonneau cover clips under the gunwale. Up in five
minutes, weatherproof, crouching headroom, sleeps two comfortably,
camping gear (in w'proof containers) shoved in the bow for the night.
Worked really well. Main problem was absence of portaloo...
