Re: [bolger] Going sout with the Topaz
Good luck on your trip, Brad. You have out
best wishes.
When you get to where you are going, and have a
little free time, find a computer; go to the egroups website, and peruse
the posts at your leisure. Every one is archived there. Bon
Voyage

I have been out of touch up here with not even enough time to read the egroups mail. Will be leaving south to Fl. in four weeks. As in the past when one plans to trailer a large vessel, problems arise.I fabricated extensions for the trailer, put on a new and better winch and a lot of work. A few weeks ago, I loaded the boat and headed to a large scale out of curiosity. Wow, the total weight was pushing 5000#. This coupled with all the tools I needed to build a home with down there and supplies exceeded both the weight carrying capacity of the trailer and the capacity of my blazer to pull and carry. Number one, my trailer tires have to be replaced and they were 13 inch. I found 8-ply on the net and ordered four new ones which will take care of the trailer. I expect the rest of the trailer will have to be re built to accommodate the greater diameter as well. I considered beefing up the blazer but finally decided to sell and buy a pick-em-up instead which I did. Boating is a cheap past time isn't it. Things are going to be hectic for a few weeks getting all together and battened down for the long trip south, but should be interesting.I had time to only read the lead in's to the incoming mail and would like to go back and see what you all were talking about as to planes and boats. I lost them due to a virus which is now isolated along with this mail. I built four planes in the past and flew three of them which might not be what was going on at all. At least it brought up some exciting memories on my part.Happy boating, Brad

Hi everyone. I have been out of touch up
here with not even enough time to read the egroups mail. Will be
leaving south to Fl. in four weeks. As in the past when one plans to
trailer a large vessel, problems arise.
I fabricated extensions for the trailer, put on
a new and better winch and a lot of work. A few weeks ago, I loaded the
boat and headed to a large scale out of curiosity. Wow, the total weight
was pushing 5000#. This coupled with all the tools I needed to build a

the trailer and the capacity of my blazer to pull and carry. Number one,
my trailer tires have to be replaced and they were 13 inch. I found 8-ply
on the net and ordered four new ones which will take care of the trailer.
I expect the rest of the trailer will have to be re built to accommodate the
greater diameter as well. I considered beefing up the blazer but finally decided
to sell and buy a pick-em-up instead which I did. Boating is a cheap past
