[bolger] Re: Paraply
I have seen some birch multiply exterior, purportedly from Russia, at a
professional boatshop here. The guy orders it from an importer in Miami.
It's beautiful, no voids, but pretty heavy. Sells for the same as APA fir
marine ply - About $55 for 3/8

Speaking of plywood - I ordered some 3/8" marine fir for martha jane's cabin
top and when to get it today and found that it was only 5/16th and not all
that great looking at that. I refused it - and another local lumber yard
tells me that they have full 3/8" marine fir - has anyone out there been able
to find 3/8? or has the industry all cut back to 5/16? Steve Anderson (

A friend of mine called last night to come over and use my table saw.
Imagine my glee as he showed up with a sheet of paraply he is using for an
entertainment center project.
I took a scrap, drilled a hole through it and cleated it to my dock with a
piece of string. We'll see what a Tampa Bay canal will do to the paraply.
BTW, on one end of the sheet in green letters, it was stamped "Paraguay" and
"interior". Why can't they just import it with exterior glue?
Glued up the two pieces of 1/4 ply for the Windsprint daggerboard tonight.
I think this may be the one place that the curvy pine plywood is going to be
a problem. We'll see.

Glued up the two pieces of 1/4 ply for the Windsprint daggerboard tonight.
I think this may be the one place that the curvy pine plywood is going to be
a problem. We'll see.
