underestimate the effect of the boat being pretty long, and generally
pretty big. I would worry more about it having too little sail that
being unstable. Call Payson and ask him. He is pretty candid and
pretty reliable about the quirks in PCB's boats.
I like the Zephyr hull, but not the rig. I'm sure it works fine, but
it seems so unenterprising. Now, if you put a Culler 2-masted sprit
rig on it (a la the Sharpstown barge), it might look more sporting.
Adapting one of the more recent ideas about the leeboard might also
be a good idea. The original Bolger clip-on leeboard is very
vulnerable in a grounding.

My Teal is stable enough for me to stand and cast on smooth water.
I'd have to guess the Zephyr is like a dock.

Has anyone here built or sailed one of Bolger's Zephyrs?
From what I saw on the Instant Boats web site it is a larger version
of the Surf, but I am wondering about the performance it might have
with the lanteen rig that is shown in the study plans, as well as the
stability due to its narrow beam.
If there are any websites out there that a builder has put up I would
appreciate the addresses...
Thanks
