Okay, I've got it now. 4.81 cubic meters = 4.81 metric tons of water x
2200 lbs. per metric ton = 10582 pounds displacement. Note that: 1
liter of fresh water = 1000cc = 1 kilogram and there are 1000 liters
in a cubic meter. There are roughly 2.2 pounds in a kilogram. Ain't
metrics wonderful?
I guess that the LM2s displacement would be slightly more in sea
water. That is, the vessel would float higher with the same load while
is salt water, or would need a heavier load to float on her lines,
