Re: Building an AS39
It would be great to have a few of your building pictures posted
just to encourage those having a hard time beginning less daunting
vessels!
Sincerely,
Peter Lenihan, just a few kilometres to the west of you on the banks
of le fleuve St.Laurent............

Hi group,
I`m not new to this group but never write a post. Since the end of
march 2000, we (with my girlfriend) are building an AS39. We are
located in Montréal, and for now we are completing all the bulkheads
in our house (Bulkheads completely ready and encapsulated). We are
supposed to begin the assembly in the yard at the end of march. With a
prevision of having the boat complete for the next october. We do with
Mr. Bolger a major modification, we will replace the lead for ballast
by a steelplate in the amidship (18 feets) of the hull as a third
layer.
All the frame material is white ash and the ply is Marine grade
Bs1088, using East (like West) Epoxy.
Two years ago we build a ¨Pirogue¨the 16 foot one, and we take a 10
days ride on the Outaouais river (between Montreal and Hull) with all
our stock for salvage camping. It was a 300 km rides, very beautifull
to remember that trip.
I am not writing a lot because it cost me a lot to write in english!
