[bolger] Micro Improvement?

When I tilted my new outboard for the first time, it went bang against
the top crossbeam, in spite of the measurements being correct.

I cut a little out of the top of the motor beam, but still not enough
for clearance. (incidentally, the extra cut-out is just the width of
the outbaord clamps, and is a handy centralliser in a chop).

So I chainsawed out (not really!) the top beam flush with the sides of
the transom opening, and screwed and glued a hardwood diagonal strut
each side of the opening, from the underside of the transome beam, down
to the top stringer of the next bulkhead. It is all very strong.

Micro from a floating Elegant Punt seems as high as the Titanic, but
boarding through the stern opening is a piece of cake! Also when the
boat is ashore, it is much easier to climb aboard.
