G'day all i've had a yahoo-otomy and returned to normal. I'm now a
200year old banking executivefrom patagonia. (only half joking).
What is a sculling oar? They are a regular oar used over the stern
and very effective if you have no room to sit and row. By pushing
the oar port-stbd-port-stbd and having the blade at 45 degrees off
you go. this can be strenuous on the wrists so handle at right
angles to the length of the oar and parallel to the blade is added.
If you are cox'n for a few rowers and steering with an oar you can
assist the rowers by steering and sculling at the same time.
folding schooner is flying along . finished beveling rear hull
bulkheads last night, will start putting it together tonight.
You know when you think about it a folding schooner would fit nicely
into a 20'x6' garageon its trailer. In fact youcoulld build it
there.Would be excellent for rockclimbers to cruise the Bay of
Isles. Take a serious look at this design before you decide eh gill.
I,ve had no problems with building this as a first boat project. This
boathas all the room you'll need for people and gear. Would love to
sail the bay of isles again one day. cheers for now people.
