Re:Fillers

We used to be able to buy asbestos powder up here cheap.....real
cheap, like $8.00Can per cubic yard.Anyway,it made for almost rock hard
fillets that were damned near impossible to sand and when you did,you
always had a respirator on.I used it while building my SURF years ago
and it sure taught a good lesson in working neat while learning how to
smooth out the fillet like glass, with acetone, before the epoxy
kicked.Later on used talc powder on my ELVER but never had hard rock
hard fillets again.........

spring be that near?!),on the shores of the St.Lawrence........
Try pulverized limestone. This is the lime than we use as a soil
amendment. It works well and is really cheap (literally dirt cheap).

My favorite filler is still (cover the children's eyes) Bondo. My
first car - a '66 Dodge Dart - was made almost completely out of the
stuff in the end. Some people are turned on by the smell of fresh
cedar shavings. I wax nostalgic whenever I get a whiff of Bondo.

Unlike rice glue, however, you cannot eat what is left over at the end of the
day.

Hi Bill,
Use regular flour as your filler material, unless your a health nut,
then use whole wheat, or if your dieting, use wood flour. There not
quite as easy to sand, so install with care, but they do the job for a
whole lot less money.
