Re: [bolger] - WEST Fillers

Bill,

You'll get a lot of opinions on fillers, but I have had fine results with
talc. Fiberglass Coatings, Inc. sells a 50 lb bag for about $20.00. I have
used maybe 20 lb in my Sweet Caroline... depending on the mix ratio, it can
be used for thickened glue, fillets, or fairing compound. It is not the
strongest or the most impervious, but the mix is stronger than wood and does
not get wet in a trailer boat. I have some WEST fillers that I use when
repairing structural problems or fine gel coats, but I just can't justify
them for bulk use in ply construction.
