[bolger] Re: I May Have Selected a Design - At Last
Donald,
I am currently building Sweet Caroline as a stitch and glue project. She
looks nice and is going together well. ( I sealed the bow seat and motor
well panels last night. They should get stitched in this week. )
I want to build Bolger's Diablo, but have a bigger family than will all fit
in it , so went a little larger. I have the address of a fellow in Texas
who built one of the Carolina Dorys ( like Sweet Caroline) and was happy to
talk to me about it.
I will be curious to see what size motor you choose. I still have no idea
what used "great deal" will come along when we reach that stage.
Planning to launch in Feb with no paint and make changes and then finish
it.

After flogging through many online and hardcopy catalogs, I think I'm going
back to Glen-L and build the "Sweet Caroline" 20-foot dory. It has a 4 ft x
16 ft flat bottom panel, max beam 6 feet, about 550 lb. No cuddy on the
plans, but I think I can muddle through on that.
My time and funds are suddenly constrained by two weddings in the spring -
who knows, I may be looking for a dink plan before long! Stay tuned...
My unbuilt Tennessee plans are for sale - $75 postpaid. Any takers?
