Welcome to Ply Seas! ("we", "our", or "us"). Ply Seas is an online platform where boatbuilders, sailors, and adventure enthusiasts can share their work, post build logs, explore resources, and participate in a creative community.

By using Ply Seas ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms").
Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to use Ply Seas.
By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Accounts & Authentication

To use certain features, you may create an account or sign in through a third-party provider (e.g., Google).

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access

We may disable or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User-Generated Content

Ply Seas allows you to create and publish:

  • Build logs
  • Adventures
  • Comments
  • Boat designs
  • Photos and videos
  • Resource articles
  • Profile information

You are responsible for the content you post.

You agree that your content will not:

  • Violate copyright
  • Contain illegal or harmful material
  • Include spam or misleading promotional content
  • Impersonate others
  • Include private information of others without consent

4. Your Content: Ownership & License

You retain full ownership of your content.

However, by uploading or posting content to the Service, you grant Ply Seas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Display your content on PlySeas.com
  • Modify or format your content for display
  • Feature your content in community sections, curated feeds, or newsletters
  • Promote the platform by sharing your content on social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook)
  • Use your content in ways reasonably necessary to operate, market, or improve the Service

This license exists only for content you have publicly posted and continues until you delete the content.
Once deleted, the license for future use ends, though past promotional uses may persist.

We will never sell your content to third parties.

5. Community & Moderation

We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or disrupts the community experience.

We may also suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Repeatedly violate content rules
  • Abuse platform features
  • Engage in harassment or harmful behavior

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or bypass security features
  • Scrape or mass-download content without permission
  • Misuse or overload our servers or APIs
  • Use the Service for commercial advertising without permission

7. Platform Changes & Availability

We may update, pause, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

While we strive for reliability, Ply Seas is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with:

  • Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
  • Vercel or Firebase (hosting)
  • Resend or Zoho (email delivery)
  • Google (OAuth sign-in)
  • Analytics or social media APIs

These services have their own terms and policies. You agree to comply with their rules where applicable.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Ply Seas is not liable for damages resulting from use or inability to use the Service
  • You use the Service at your own discretion and risk

Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

Continued use of the Service means you accept updated Terms.
