Modified for plywood construction.
I was taken by this boat after immersing my self into Howard Chapelles book, "boat building". I spent days looking, thinkng, dreaming. So, I decided to do something about it. I'm still not sure if it was a good idea

Building a Welsford Seagull
Welsford Seagull
I love to row. My go-to rowboat for a decade or so has been a Devlin Oarling II. It’s a great boat and has taken me on many adventures. But I’d like something that has more initial stability and can take a passenger or two.
I’m looking for a quick build, relatively simple. After asking around and researching, I settled on John Welsford’s Seagull. It has a flat bottom and single chine. Should have a lot more initial stability. Sounds like it’s a delight to row. And it has more capacity than my dory.
All good in theory. I’m looking forward to building one to find out.
