Displacement of Tortoise is given on plans as 300 lb at wl just below transoms. At the equivalent point on Brick, the displacement is given as 875 lb. See

Yeah I don t disagree w R s Nymph being more capable, but several PD Racers completed the Texas 200 this year. Doesn t make Tortoise a coastal cruiser

I don t doubt it. When I had the Honda BF2 on my SeaPearl (21 , 1600#+ with camping gear and 2 people), I calculated it at 45-54 mpg, depending on speed.

Hi, Eric. The man that had it built had a friend that manufactured fiberglass boats. His crew laid up solid panels of fiberglass to form the sides and bottom.
